Playing “Indian”

Radio Documentary Feature

What exactly are the Plains First Nations’ ways doing in the lives of these German and Central Europeans who have never really met an indigenous person, let alone stepped foot onto the North American Plains?

Controversial, insightful, surprising and in depth, this acclaimed 60 minute radio documentary feature aired on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in March, 2005, and was rebroadcast until 2009 on  the program Ideas. It was also aired on National Public Radio in the USA in 2006. It continues to be used as material in university courses on race and identity politics and indigenous issues in Canada.

Recorded on a Sony RX70 Minidisc recorder with accompanying mic. Edited in  Audition and Pro Tools.
